Professional Development

We encourage all staff members to participate in training and education oppor-tunities and to actively participate in the IDP program. We budget annually to invest in each person's professional development. We help all of our employees to establish both professional and personal goals on an annual basis. Our new staff members are expected to set 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year goals for improving in specific areas of professional development such as time management, CAD proficiency, design and construction knowledge. We believe that teamwork, collaboration skills, and positive attitudes are essential for TCF Architecture employees to succeed in the integrated design environment we create on projects. Each new project presents many opportunities for us to advance our personal skills and to enhance the collective institutional knowledge of the firm. Our senior staff and principals work with our younger staff members throughout a project to go beyond production and delivery tasks, creating learning opportunities. We view the process of mentoring as fundamental to the practice of architecture.
