Upgrades and expansion improve a family-owned business to adapt to its evolving workforce.

The Auto Warehousing Company (AWC) processes new automobiles that are shipped to the Port of Tacoma on large marine vessels, unloaded and processed for ground shipment to retail customers throughout the United States. In 2002, TCF Architecture served as the Prime Consultant responsible for all buildings on a 125-acre site, and worked with the Port of Tacoma and AWC to adapt an existing warehouse to accommodate AWC’s program to include corporate offices, an auto body/paint shop building, two automatic car wash structures, and a fueling station.

In 2014, TCF began work with AWC once again on phased improvements, including expansion of the existing corporate offices and restrooms, new exterior entrance approach, and a reception area redesign and refreshment of interior finishes.
