Supporting Comfort, Service and Reliability

Working under Perteet Inc. as civil engineer and prime consultant, TCF designed the bus shelter along with the fuel and wash structures that support fleet operations. For these relatively simple buildings, each element balances performance and clarity, ensuring comfort and safety of patrons and high functioning infrastructure to support service functions in a confident, efficient manner.

The fuel and wash buildings are utilitarian in form and material: constructed of CMU and metal siding, these straightforward, resilient structures support operational efficiency while minimizing long term maintenance demands.

The bus shelter serves as the public face. Staggered concrete plinths anchor a delicate cantilevered canopy, creating a composition that feels both grounded and light. The roof system filters diffused daylight into the waiting area below, offering protection from inclement weather while maintaining openness and visibility.

This thoughtful balance of structure and shelter enhances comfort and safety for riders, elevating what might otherwise be purely functional space.

Unified Identity

An orange hue punctuates each structure, visually connecting the campus and reinforcing the Kitsap Transit brand.

Recognized with the VISION 2040 Award from the Puget Sound Regional Council, the North Base and Park and Ride reflects how thoughtfully designed infrastructure can quietly emphasize the importance of the daily connections that link communities across our region.
