The Fair Food Court renovation brings new energy to one of the Washington State Fair’s most popular gathering places. As the first project in a broader campus improvement effort, the exterior transformation reimagines the dining experience while preserving the spirit of the fair.

The project renewed the open air dining patio, introduced an enclosed outdoor beer and wine garden, replaced aging wall cladding, and repaired roof overhangs and canopies. These improvements extend usability, enhance comfort, and refresh the building’s presence at the center of campus activity.
Inspired by Torvehallerne, the Copenhagen food market, the design introduces a vibrant color palette and patterned ceramic tile that draw in fair goers and celebrate the joy of gathering over food. The result is a bright, welcoming destination that elevates the everyday experience of the fair while setting the tone for future improvements.
