Flexible Learning for Growing Minds

Classrooms are complemented by a dedicated maker space and several flex spaces distributed throughout the building, giving teachers and students a high degree of flexibility in how learning unfolds. These shared zones support collaboration, creativity, and hands-on exploration while allowing the school to adapt to evolving programs and teaching styles across grade levels.

A School That Welcomes Community

Imagined as a metaphorical “living room,” the commons sits front and center, defined by tall glazing and honey-toned wood ceilings that extend a warm, welcoming invitation to enter. The balance of the activities wing, including the gymnasium, music room, and performance platform, is carefully zoned for easy after-hours access for public use, maintaining security from the academic areas. An additional community room further strengthens the school’s role as a gathering place beyond direct educational purpose.

Rooted in Belonging

Lakebay is remote, and Evergreen’s scale, organization, and distributed collaboration spaces foster connectedness among students, staff, and families. The design supports both structured instruction and informal interaction, promoting a close knit culture among families and neighbors of the Lakebay community.
