Coreen Van Ausdell for AIA Scholarship Award
TCF Architecture is pleased to nominate Coreen Van Ausdell, TCF Architecture’s QA/QC Manager, for a scholarship award to attend the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit. Across her 4.5 years with our firm, Coreen has demonstrated a number of attributes that make her worthy of consideration:
Coreen is motivated by the common good. Self-starting and smart, she engages as a humble, lifelong learner. With each new endeavor, she applies her considerable personal architectural experience while drawing in those around her to solve problems on varying levels.
Coreen cares deeply about contributing to healthy, sustainable communities. She is restless if bigger questions about longevity, sustainability, and human well being are not being adequately addressed.
Coreen demonstrates life balance. A mother of two young children, she continues to take on leading roles—both on projects and firm initiatives—to promote a healthy firm culture. This, while keeping primary focus on the health and well-being of her family.
Coreen tackles challenges head-on while not pretending to know it all. Always the professional, Coreen approaches relationships with clients (ranging from private business owners to public works crews, transit agency executives and nonprofit organization staff) with a heart to understand people and needs, and a mind to create lasting value.
In summary, Coreen is only beginning to tap into her potential as a skilled architect, as well as leader in our firm and the profession. She makes the most of each opportunity regardless of project size; is never “too good” for any role or project; and elevates any team to which she is assigned to “A Team” status.
